Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section. The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. Every singlePerson in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-colouredAs many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. It has been a total success with more than 25,000 units sold during the weekend of the Shot Show in the United States and started its commercialization. Each with a different view based on their experience of life -This is the Future of Optics The Obsidian 4 application is here to enhance your experience when using the ATN X-Sight 4K and/or the ThOR 4 product lines.Regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. We will not hesitate to ban offenders. To clear this text box, click on the 'X' in the top right-hand corner.I've been following the chatter about the new X Sight for some while. The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section. We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We don’t want to read about these topics either.IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section). It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum. In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.To close this message box, click on the 'X' in the top-right-hand corner.Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic MaterialThe majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum.
In some ways this is probably true but unfortunately a lot of the buyers probably had little or no understanding of how the sights work and were unable to sort out their issues, ATN seem to have refunded these people without quibble. With the Photon this can be done using adjustable mounts but the X sight has a built on weaver mount which makes the process more difficult but not impossible.Another much heard complaint was that ATN were using early buyers as guinea pigs to help them iron out bugs. It does need the scope to be properly aligned with the bore to avoid the reticle being off centre in the field of view. The X Sight is a digital sight, the next step in evolution from the Photon, and it shares a problem common to this type of sight and that includes most of the home builds as well. They only had the 5x-18x model on display as the 3-12 was out of stock.A lot of the internet whingeing centred on the fact that the reticle often disappeared from the screen if the scope was zoomed in and there were also complaints about the lack of focussing on the smaller model. The supply situation was sorted out and scopes were being delivered and I managed to get a look at one, in the metal, at the Shooting Show. Atn X Sight Manual Is AvailableA proper manual is available on line and since it is regulalrly being updated this is probably a reasonable solution. In the box you get the sight, a carrying bag (if you want to take it off the gun I suppose), an ir illuminator and a brief manual. The updates have fixed most of the problems or issues that had been bothering users and future updates will continue to solve problems, fix bugs and probably introduce new features. The X Sight is advertised as a digital day/night sight, it is run by what is essentially a small computer and includes things like GPS, WiFi and recording of video/photos in much the same way as a smart phone. Atn X Sight Plus The SDOnce you're ready to shoot the process is simple - shoot a single shot or group (at your chosen zero range) and the go into the menu and select zeroing. Image quality is good for a digital device and the recorded video is reckoned to be slightly better quality than that seen through the eyepiece.Zeroing is simple, as I said earlier it's much better to get the sight aligned with the bore but the mount and/or dovetail to weaver adapter may need shimming to get this spot on. I believe that it has to be powered up on its internal cells but will then draw power from a usb source so I have ordered a rechargeable power bank to try this out.The X Sight can be switched from day use (slightly strange colours) to night (with the choice of green or black/white images). Unfortunately these cells aren't cheap but the latest firmware update has formalised the option to power it over a usb cable. On the left hand side there is a short section of weaver rail to take the dedicated illuminator or a torch of your choice.Overall the unit seems well made and now, with most of the niggles sorted out, should be simple enough for most users to get to grips with quickly As with all digital kit batteries can be an issue, the makers suggest top quality AA single use cells and I would agree with this. You can also access the menu for setting it up, again this is well covered on You tube if you want to see that.On the right hand side there is the battery compartment and another for connecting usb and hdmi plus the SD card slot (this is used for any video etc and also for updating the firmware). Waves kramer master tapeSo far it seems to me to be perfectly usable day and night. Both models now have focussing objectives and the latest frimware has sorted the majority of other complaints. Since this is a digital device it will quickly start to pixellate but the feature may be of use to some.If you check out reviews etc on Youtube be aware that many will be out of date. I would expect muti aim point reticles to be made available via firmware updates at some time, hopefully soon. The scope zooms smoothly between min and max but there is an option in the menu to extend this if required. If you want to you can re-check.At the moment reticle choice is limited to a choice of 3 standard cross types in a choice of 3 colours.
